Autica Tours Indonesia is a creative travel company based in Yogyakarta, Java, Indonesia, and a proud trademark of PT. Bestari Bahagia Sejahtera (Registration No. AHU-061349.AHA.01.30, 2024). We specialize in crafting authentic slow-travel experiences that celebrate Indonesia’s cultural depth, natural beauty, and human connection.

We believe that travel can transform, not just the traveler, but also the people and places we encounter. Through collaboration with local communities and creative partners, we aim to nurture a more conscious and inclusive way of exploring Indonesia.

Autica began with a simple question; what about the places and people the world rarely notices?
In every corner of Indonesia, there are stories, communities, and cultures that stay hidden, not because they lack beauty, but because they don’t fit into the frame of the mainstream. Not “Instagrammable” enough, or not preserved enough and just waiting to be lost in modernity and the fast pace of the world's progress. Living behind all the local values and wisdom that could be learnt and applied for recent and upcoming challenges. 

In order to find the answer, we connect travelers with places, culture and experiences that go beyond the surface, the ones shaped by authenticity and local value. As an independent local initiative, We want to give a chance to overlooked places, communities and local creatives that try to preserve their heritage. We collaborate with passionate guides, young storytellers, and communities that share the same dream, to redefine travel as a mindful and human experience. To learn from the past and get the necessary knowledge in moving forward.

Rooted in Yogyakarta

Autica was born in Yogyakarta. The only remaining monarchy in Indonesia and the heart of Javanese culture. Here, tradition and modern life move together in balanced rhythm. Ancient rituals blend with contemporary art scenes; gamelan played through creative studios, and royal heritage meets the spirit of a young, progressive city.

Our name, Autica, stands for Authentic, Culture, and Adventure — three values that mirror the essence of Yogyakarta itself. Known as the City of Students, Yogyakarta’s open and dynamic ecosystem allows ideas to grow freely while its people remain deeply rooted in Javanese values of humility, balance, and harmony.

From this place, we draw our inspiration. Autica stands at the intersection of the old and the new — a travel company born from cultural roots yet shaped by a modern world. We believe that culture is not something to be preserved behind glass; it’s a living rhythm that evolves through daily life, art, and human connection.

The Art of to feel & going slowly

In Javanese philosophy, there’s a saying: “Alon-alon waton kelakon”, which means, slowly but surely, it gets done.
This wisdom became our compass. To travel pelan-pelan (slowly) is not merely to move at a leisurely pace. It’s to allow time, space and senses to align. It’s how we learn, connect, and feel more deeply.

Through this slower, sensory way of travel, we rediscover our capacity for rasa; the human feeling that unites thought, emotion, and awareness. For us, travel is not an escape. It is a way to become more human or Manungsa in Javanese, which is an acronyim of manunggaling rasa, (-the state of where all rasa becoming one-)
