“A Journey Born from the Unseen”

Autica began with a simple question; what about the places and people the world rarely notices?
In every corner of Indonesia, there are stories, communities, and cultures that stay hidden, not because they lack beauty, but because they don’t fit into the frame of the mainstream. Not “Instagrammable” enough, or not preserved enough and just waiting to be lost in modernity and the fast pace of the world's progress. Living behind all the local values and wisdom that could be learnt and applied for recent and upcoming challenges. 

In order to find the answer, we connect travelers with places, culture and experiences that go beyond the surface, the ones shaped by authenticity and local value. As an independent local initiative, We want to give a chance to overlooked places, communities and local creatives that try to preserve their heritage. We collaborate with passionate guides, young storytellers, and communities that share the same dream, to redefine travel as a mindful and human experience. To learn from the past and get the necessary knowledge in moving forward.

Rooted in Yogyakarta

Autica is an acronym from Authentic Yogyakarta. A city where tradition and modernity live side by side. Here, the rhythm of gamelan meets the pulse of new ideas; heritage meets experimentation.

Yogyakarta’s essence reminds us that culture is not a museum piece. It’s alive, constantly evolving through its people.
Just like the city, our company stand at the intersection of the old and the new: a traditional travel agency reborn in a modern world, carrying the wisdom of the past into the rhythm of today.

The Art of to feel & going slowly

In Javanese philosophy, there’s a saying: “Alon-alon waton kelakon”, which means, slowly but surely, it gets done.
This wisdom became our compass. To travel pelan-pelan (slowly) is not merely to move at a leisurely pace. It’s to allow time, space and senses to align. It’s how we learn, connect, and feel more deeply.

Through this slower, sensory way of travel, we rediscover our capacity for rasa; the human feeling that unites thought, emotion, and awareness. For us, travel is not an escape. It is a way to become more human or Manungsa in Javanese, which is an acronyim of manunggaling rasa, (-the state of where all rasa becoming one-)
